  • Glencadam is the official whisky for the toast on HMS Montrose

HMS Montrose makes regular trips to it's namesake port of Montrose and we were delighted to be part of her most recent trip this weekend.

The crew visited the distillery to enjoy some whisky tastings and Glencadam was the official whisky used at the sunset toast on saturday night onboard the ship. Our Distillery Manager Doug enjoyed a dram and a chat with her Commanding Officer.

HMS Montrose will be leaving the port shortly to embark on her next deployment - thanks to all the officers and crew onboard who made us feel so welcome and showed us this incredible frigate.

    Safe journeys

  • New Spirit Still at Glencadam

It's exciting times at Glencadam as we prepare for a new spirit still, to replace the old one which has been with us since the 1950s!

This new still is currently in production with Forsyth's of Elgin, who have been making pot stills since the 1890s, so we know it's in safe hands.

We will follow this story as our new still progresses but this first pic shows you the start of the process as Forsyth's have made the head of the still.

  • BBC Good Food Show, NEC Birmingham, 14th to 17th June

    Hope to see you there.

  • International Spirits Challenge Awards 2018

We are delighted to have won two new medals at the prestigious ISC awards for 2018.

  • Double Gold Win at San Francisco Competition

We are dlighted to announce that our Glencadam 25 Year Old has won a Double Gold Award at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This prestigious award recognises the very best spirits in the world and a double gold is only awarded to a very few entries who have received a gold from all members of the judging panel. This makes it one of the finest products in the world.

  • Glencadam Wins at London Spirits Competition

At the first-ever London Spirits Competition, which took place in London on March 8-9, Glencadam 19 Year Old won a Gold Medal, which is the ultimate seal of approval in the global spirits industry. In order to receive this distinction, it needed to score highly in three different categories: Quality, Value and Packaging. We also picked up Silver Medals for GLencadam 13 Year Old and Origins.

In contrast to other spirits competitions, where distilling ability and technical expertise sometimes receive primary consideration at the expense of drinkability, the goal of the London Spirits Competition was to award and celebrate the spirits that spirits drinkers actually want to buy, whether at a retail store or ordering off the menu at a London restaurant.

  • The Re-awakening

Glencadam Distillery proudly announces the release of a rare 13 year old expression.

Rare because in the Autumn of the year 2000, Glencadam distillery fell silent. This silence became a deep sleep for three years until its joyous “Re-Awakening” in the Autumn of 2003. This rare, 13 years old limited edition from the re-start of distillation truly represents and commemorates “The Re-Awakening” of Glencadam Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Noted to have the colour of shimmering gold, a nose of floral malty sweetness and subtle vanilla, this rare release is definitely lining up to be a corker!
