Glencadam 19 was given an impressive 9.5 in the latest edition of Whisky Magazine.

The tasting session which invites guest editors to review various whiskies scored the newest Glencadam expression a 9.5.

Chris Goodrum one of the judges described the whisky as 'absolutley majestic' whilst Joel Harrison, author of the award winning book, Distilled, described the whisky as 'very well balanced'.

Tomintoul Whisky have been awarded a Master at the Asian Spirit Masters 2016 for the Tomintoul 40 Year Old Quadruple Cask. A Master is only awarded to outstanding quality spirits within the drinks industry and our Tomintoul 40 Year Old was recognised for its ‘well-rounded’ notes against strong competitors. The whisky was described for having a balance of ‘tobacco, honey, and some vanilla’ notes by the judges.

 Tomintoul Distillery is pleased to announce the release of its new limited edition Tomintoul 15 Years Old Portwood Finish. The new expression has only 5820 bottles available with each bottle individually numbered. The malt whisky was transferred from Bourbon casks into hand-picked Port pipes to “finish” its maturation for a generous period of time in order to further enrich and refine the whisky’s characteristics; most notably, the tones of fruity Port sweetness. Tomintoul Master Distiller, Robert Fleming deemed that the time was right to bottle the whisky at 15 years of age when the malt whisky flavours had reached harmonious notes with the sweet attributes of the Port wood. 

The new release is supplied in cases of 6 x 70cl bottles in individual cylindrical cartons and it will be available in key European and selected world markets.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Rose Gold

Nose: Summer fruits, strawberries and blackberries tempered with some toffee sweetness and cigar box spiciness

Palate: Lush clean malt modified by fruity sweet Port and some spicy oak tones

Finish: Full and rich with lingering herbal spices and toffee sweetness

Glencadam Whisky have added 4 new expressions to the Glencadam range; Glencadam 17 Triple Cask Portwood Finish, Glencadam 18, Glencadam 19 Oloroso and Glencadam 25.


It will be a great year for those who love Glencadam whisky with each expression representing what they stand for - quality single malt with a lot of character.

It's a busy week up in Speyside ahead of this weekend’s Spirit Of Speyside Whisky Festival with a series of games, tournaments, tastings and Distillery tours.

Grantown's Kilted Dramble - Join an evening of fascinating tales as you walk through the beautiful Anagach forest guided by the Grantown-on-Spey Kilted Heroes.
