Glencadam Distillery welcomes new leadership ahead of landmark visitor centre launch

Angus Dundee Distillers is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Van der Veen as Brand Home Manager and Lauren Oliver as Deputy Brand Home Manager at the new Glencadam Distillery Visitor Centre.

Both bring with them extensive industry expertise and will play a pivotal role in shaping an unforgettable experience at our Brechin destination, set to open later this year.

Michael has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality and whisky sector, joining us from Kingsbarns and Darnley’s Distilleries where he led visitor experiences. Originally from the Netherlands, he also held senior roles at Skibo Castle, The Eden Club and Links House at Royal Dornoch.
Lauren has spent more than a decade working across distilleries in the Highlands and Speyside, most recently as Visitor Experience Manager at Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery. She holds a GCD in Distilling & Brewing from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, bringing both technical knowledge and storytelling passion to her new role.

Speaking about their appointments, Michael shared:
“I love working in whisky and Glencadam’s values resonate deeply, with a true appreciation for history, heritage and craftsmanship.”

Lauren added:
“Being part of Glencadam at such a monumental time as the distillery celebrates 200 years of whisky-making heritage is a fantastic opportunity – one I’m proud to be part of.”

These appointments mark an important milestone in the project’s journey as we prepare to open the visitor centre in late autumn – reflecting our commitment to sharing Scotch whisky heritage while supporting the Angus community.
